Feminist Question of the Week--Video Share

Last week we shared links to some great (or at least interesting) articles, and it was so much fun that I want to do it again! This week, let's share videos that relate to gender. All videos are welcome, whether scholarly, infuriating, or just plain hilarious.

To get us started, I'm going to share a song from Avenue Q that is always fun and always relevant: Everyone's a Little Bit Racist.

  1. Mine's not as funny, but I think it's reall interesting--what do you (if you are a woman)call your vagina? I may even have to do a blog post about this sometime I think :) THe whole thing is about 10 minutes long--though it's split into two parts.

I saw this conversation flipping channels and I immediately thought of NAW. The conversation is on breast size for women and whether or not that should be a factor in how they are perceived intellectually by others. It seemed some what tongue and cheek for part of it but always erring on the side of "we don't want people to think that we are sexist."

I also thought some of the reactions of people are more telling than their words. It's an interesting discussion because I can't think of a single guy friend that would be embarrassed or fearful of not being taken seriously because of an extremely large package. In more ways than one it's a sign of power. Is it the same for women?
